This European Human Biomonitoring Dashboard allows to visualise summary statistics from HBM data collections obtained through the HBM4EU project and makes them accessible to the broader community allowing to explore exposure levels and trends in chemical exposure of European citizens. Moreover for the HBM data generated in the HBM4EU Aligned Studies, exposure levels can be compared with currently available health-based guidance values. The data included in the dashboard were obtained in a standardized and comparable way. The current data is limited to the eighteen HBM4EU priority substances.
This EU HBM Dashboard was developed by the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO). VITO and the whole HBM4EU’s team would like to specially acknowledge the study’s data owners, as this would not have been possible without their support.
Disclaimer
The HBM4EU project was launched in 2016 with the aim of improving the collective understanding of human exposure to hazardous chemicals and developing HBM as an exposure assessment method. The project had €74m in funding and jointly implemented by 120 partners from 28 participating countries – 24 EU member states plus Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Israel and the European Environment Agency. One of its aims was to ensure the sustainability of HBM in the EU beyond 2021. The project ended in June 2022. The website will not be updated any longer, except the page on peer reviewed publications, but will be online until 2032.
