HBM4EU Events

Events in 2020:

  • 12th – 13th February: HBM4EU EFSA meeting, Parma (Italy). To foster a tighter collaboration between EFSA and the HBM4EU team, some members of the HBM4EU team will attend a meeting at EFSA. Foreseen discussions to include risk assessment and derivation of HBGVs
  • 11th – 15th May: 4th HBM4EU training school to be held in Innsbruck, Austria
  • October: HBM4EU Annual week meeting in Berlin
  • 2nd October: International conference under the German EU presidency

Events in 2019:

  • February 12th: Stakeholder consultation organised by the Israeli National Hub
  • March: Israeli National Hub – Ministry of Health conference on Environmental Tobacco Smoke which will focus on HBM results and methods.
  • May: Focus group discussion on chemical safety with members of the public. Lisbon, Portugal
  • June 17th -21st:-3rd HBM4EU Training Event, Brno, Czechia.
  • September: Focus group discussion on chemical safety with members of  the public. Dublin, Ireland
  • October: Focus group discussion on chemical safety with members of the public. London, UK

HBM4EU participation in external events

HBM4EU partners are introducing our exciting project to a range of audiences at a broad range of scientific conferences and events focused on sound chemicals management and public health. Below is a list of events at which HBM4EU has been presented, as well as future events.

 

Events in 2020:

  • 15th of January: World Mycotoxin Forum in Bangkok, Thailand.
  • Exposome Workshop in Milan, 21st of February. Greet Schoeters will present.
  • 5th -6th of March: NYC Exposome Symposium. “Measuring the Exposome Using Novel Methods and Big data to Improve Human Health”. Marike Kolossa-Gehring, PhD, Head of Section – Toxicology, Health-related Environmental Monitoring, German Environmental Agency will present “Biomonitoring, mixtures and the Exposome”, New York, USA
  • 22-24th of April: 10th-INCHES (10th International Conference on Children’s Health and the Environment) will be attended by Professor, PhD at University of Copenhagen, Lisbeth E. Knudsen, who’s presenting her abstract on ‘Children and ethics in Human Biomonitoring for Europe’, in Amsterdam.
  • 3-7th of May: SETAC Europe 30th Annual Meeting in Dublin, Ireland. Luděk Bláha will be co-chairing the session, Novel Tools and Bioassays for the 21st Century Environmental Toxicology
  • 11 june: Netherlands Society of Toxicology (NVT) Annual Meeting. Theme: ‘“The (r)evolution of toxicological models – how to address safety in target species”. Greet Schoeters will give a keynote on  humans as  a target,  based on the  FLEHS  work and HBM4EU work
  • 30 August – 4 September 2020: 40th International Symposium on Halogenated Persistent Organic Pollutants (DIOXIN 2020), Nantes, France. Jean-Philippe’s team will be the organizers and chair.
  • 6th – 10thSeptember 2020: AIRMON conference, in Bristol, UK, on developments and applications of measuring sciences within the workplace for exposure assessment and control purposes. Dr. Ovnair Sepai is the key note speaker. He will mainly present HBM4EU in relation to environmental and human monitoring in an occupational setting, and give an up-date on progress and achievements from HBM4EU.
  • 6 – 9th September: EUROTOX, Copenhagen (DK). Lisbeth is part of the invited speakers, she will submit a symposium for HBM4EU.
  • 20-24th September, ISES, Oakland

  • 5th – 8 th November 9th International Symposium on recent Advances in Food Analysis” (RAFA 2019). Jean-Philippe Antignac and Argelia Castano presented the 2nd European Workshop on Human biomonitoring in food quality and safety I, Prague, Czech Republic.
  • 12-13 November, Greet Schoeters presented during the closing event of the EU-OSHA campaign Healthy Workplaces Manage Dangerous Substances, EU OSHA, Bilbao, Spain. Key-note speech: “DANGEROUS SUBSTANCES – LESSONS FROM THE PAST FOR THE FUTURE”
  • 14th November, ADEREST, France. (Épidémiologie en santé au travail). Presentation on the occupational work being developed under HBM4EU “Biosurveillance des expositions professionnelles en Europe : le projet HBM4EU”.
  • 14th November, Jornada Científica Ciberesp 2019, Madrid (Spain)
  • 15th November: Marieta Fernandez was invited by The Spanish National Health Institute Carlos III to present the HBM4EU project to CIBER Epidemiologia y Salud Publica in Madrid, Spain
  • 21st November – Science and policy making in Portugal, Portugal.
  • Joana Lobo Vicente (EEA) attended and presented on “Informing policy through science: EEA and HBM4EU”.
  • 20-23 November: European Public Health Conference in Marseille, France. ‘Added value of combining health examination surveys and human biomonitoring studies’ by Tolonen H, Andersson AM, Agergaard Holmboe S, Namorado S, Rambaud L, Kolossa-Gehring M. (Involved partners THL, RegionH, INSA, ANSP, UBA)
  • 27-28 November, Carcinogenic roadmap, Helsinki, Finland: “Working together to eliminate occupational cancer”. Workshop 1: Biomonitoring exposure to occupational carcinogens at workplaces (together with HBM4EU).
  • 28th November 2019. BTS Oxfordshire regional event, England. Ovnair Sepai presented the work of HBM4EU in the context of a vision for the UK.
  • 3-4 December, Planetary Health, Helsinki, Finland. Finish partners coordinating attendance, Hanna is in the organising committee. Marike to present on “The chemical challenge – how human biomonitoring can help’ under the session on ‘Environmental and emerging exposures – for good and bad’.
