The HBM4EU Management Board consists of the Coordinator, the Co- Coordinator, the Pillar Leaders, the National Hub Coordinator, and the leaders of all Work Packages. The European Commission is invited as an observer when deemed relevant.

The Management Board oversees the implementation of the HBM4EU according to the overall 5-year plan and the annual work plans. It monitors progress against the milestones and deliverables and is responsible for overall quality control of project outputs.
The Management Board promotes coordination and collaboration across the three Pillars, and the Work Packages therein. This involves maintaining a dialogue with the National Hubs and fostering their engagement.
The Management Board oversees all resource expenditure under the project.
All decision to be set before the Governing Board are prepared by the Management Board. The Board is responsible for informing the Governing Board about the ethics and legal framework for the project, implemented through ethics controls and the Data Management Plan.
The Management Board will also inform the Governing Board regarding links to other relevant initiatives at national, EU and global level.
Should the consortium encounter problems during project implementation, then the Management Board is responsible for developing solutions. The Management Board can refer to the Governing Board if no agreement can be found or if the solution requires major deviations from agreed work plans.
The Management Board meets six times per year.

Disclaimer
The HBM4EU project was launched in 2016 with the aim of improving the collective understanding of human exposure to hazardous chemicals and developing HBM as an exposure assessment method. The project had €74m in funding and jointly implemented by 120 partners from 28 participating countries – 24 EU member states plus Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Israel and the European Environment Agency. One of its aims was to ensure the sustainability of HBM in the EU beyond 2021. The project ended in June 2022. The website will not be updated any longer, except the page on peer reviewed publications, but will be online until 2032.
